Kent Grealish, partner in Quacera Capital Management, LLC has served clients as a financial advisor for over 35 years. He specializes in helping clients construct and manage personal investment portfolios and retirement accounts, working closely with clients to identify and reach their most important financial goals. After preparing a written Investment Policy Statement that defines the client’s overall strategy for managing investment decisions, Kent provides specific recommendations based on the client’s objectives, risk tolerance and personal situation.
Kent has written financial articles for over a quarter century. He wrote the “Investment Insights” column for the San Mateo Times from 1983 until the paper was sold in 1995. He is a featured writer for MOAA’s Financial FrontlinesTM and IndexUniverse.com and a contributor to Morningstar Advisor and Military Officer Magazine. He has been quoted in Smart Money, Money, Kiplinger’s Personal Finance and has been interviewed by the Wall Street Journal and KPIX TV ConsumerWatch.
Kent has always believed that client education is an important duty and has taught adult education classes on a variety of financial subjects since 1984. He currently uses seminars, articles and a quarterly client newsletter to teach fundamental investment principles as well as behavioral finance – how our human nature affects the way we make investment decisions. His compensation is based solely on an hourly rate and he does not receive commissions, asset-based fees or payments from any other sources.
Kent received a degree in Business Administration from the University of San Francisco and an MBA from Santa Clara University. He earned the right to use the CFP® marks of distinction and was awarded the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation in 2007. He is a graduate of the United States Naval War College, College of Naval Command and Staff and holds the rank of Captain, Supply Corps, U.S. Naval Reserve (retired).
Kent is active in his community, working on the Investment Advisory Committee for the City of San Mateo. Kent served as secretary for the San Mateo County Historical Association from 1995 - 2004 and as chairman of the Investment Advisory Committee of the Foundation for the San Mateo Community College District from 1996 - 2003.
