Hello! This is Jamie Breeden, Director of Member Services for our network.

I am pleased to introduce one of our tools that has become a most valuable resource – the Quick Start Manual. We have created this fast and easy reference as one of your greatest sources for knowledge. It includes everything you need to know in the first 30, 60 to 90 days to get your business up and running quickly.

In the Quick Start Manual, we provide you with introductions to a host of materials available. In the early sections of the manual we provide:

• Tips on navigating through our Intranet, called the Knowledge Bank,
• Detailed information on our educational webinars,
• Marketing basics to guide you in creating your professional image, and
• We also introduce all of the new member materials, all of which are available online.

We go on to explain:

• How to set up your business,
• What to consider when choosing your name,
• How to determine your business structure,
• Where to set up your physical office,
• What to consider when selecting your computer hardware and software, and
• How to go about developing professional referral sources.

It’s a little bit of everything that eventually you’ll know a lot about.

Lastly, we get into your business registration requirements. In plain language we spell out your role with the IARD system and your state securities commissioner’s office. We also guide you step-by-step in filling out your Form ADV.
